About the Chyrons

The story is set in Arcaikos; a fantasy world, physically and technically similar to Europe in medieval times. However, in Arcaikos, the ability to manipulate elemental power drawn from the earth, water, air and fire is the key to maintaining calm and prosperity and is primarily the role of the Rulers and the Veleta. The Chyrons are invisible forces attracted to natural events like storms, earthquakes, eruptions, wildfires etc. to which they add dark power and turn them into disasters. The Chyrons are kept under control by members of a cult called the Veleta, who can use elemental power to calm them and who also can communicate telepathically using green malachite Chyron stones.
